Effective Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Most of us suffer from fungal infections at some time or another during our life. Many of these infections occur in the superficial part of our body or in the skin. Fungal infections are transferable and some can be very dangerous and in extreme cases can even lead to death. Sometimes, you may be infected with a fungal infection and not even realize it.
One of the more common fungal infections is the yeast infection or in medical terms, candidiasis. Yeast infection is the infection of the mucous membranes caused by the fungus candida, specifically candida albicans.
Yeast infection also has another name, known as moniliaris, derived from the name form of a fungal genius, and thrush, a term usually reserved for infection of the mucous membrane of the mouth.
The fungus is a normal inhabitant of the mouth and vagina. Some certain bacteria that also inhibit the areas where the fungus is located usually follow the growth.
When the balance of these organisms is disturbed by certain antibiotic treatment or by hormonal imbalances or by weakening of the body's resistance to disease, the fungus can begin to proliferate, propagate and multiply.
There are different types of yeast infection. Depending on the area of the body where it develops, yeast infection can occur in the mouth, in the folds of the skin and the penis, usually called as balanitis.
The most common and popular type of candidiasis is the vaginal yeast infection an uncomfortable infection that almost two thirds of all women will experience at some time in their life.
Yeast infections are manageable but still need the attention of a physician. If you think you have a yeast infection, it is best that you consult your doctor and if he or she has no objections, you might try some of these home remedies.
If you have yeast infection, daub apple cider vinegar in the areas prone to infection regularly. You can add some garlic that will help stop the itchy feeling and water to dilute the vinegar concentration.
Curds and yogurt are foods identified to be the most effective home remedy for yeast infection. It is advisable to soak a tampon into curds and place it in the infected areas for at least an hour. The healthy required bacteria from the curds will replace the unhealthy yeast bacteria. This could be done twice or thrice a day.
Drinking at least two glasses of buttermilk a day is advisable whether you are infected or not. Curds should be part of the daily diet because this reduces the probability of yeast infection.
A Mixture of olive leaf extract with grape fruit seed extract in a glass of water is also a good potent tonic for this infection.
As a home remedy, it is also safe to take herbal products as alternatives to cure the infection.
Cranberry extract and cranberry blueberry extract are good for the infection. The two are good antioxidants as well.
The use of tea tree oil helps the curing of the infection. Dip a tampon in the oil until saturated then apply it the infected region.
You can also try applying baby oil with aloe and vitamin E to soothe the irritation and reduce the itchy sensation.
Raw garlic is a great antifungal and if you have a yeast infection on your skin, you might try rubbing some on it. I would avoid rubbing garlic on your private areas, however, as it can really sting.
Eating right, and including yogurt with active cultures in your diet as well as practicing proper personal hygene can all help to avoid yeast infection, however if you do happen to get one, it is nothing to be embarrassed about and you should see your doctor as soon as possible.

Vagina Infection Cure - Simple Home Remedy Yeast Infection Solutions

Have you recently come down with some symptoms in and on your vagina? This could include itching, burning, pain, discharge, odor and much more. Odds are you've developed a yeast infection and you need it gone fast! Fortunately for you I will be providing some yeast infection solutions that maybe you haven't thought of and a vagina infection cure to solve all your problems.
Vagina Infection Cure #1 - Apple Cider Vinegar Bath
This yeast infection solution requires that you fill a bath tub up just past your genital area. Following this you will need to add 2 cups of apple cider vinegar and 1-2 cups of sea salt. Sit down in the bathtub and slowly swish the water towards your vagina with your legs open. This is an excellent vagina infection cure that is good to use anytime, even when not suffering from a yeast infection or any other type of vagina infection as it helps promote a healthy acidic environment within the vagina.
Vagina Infection Cure #2 - Yogurt Popsicle
This yeast infection solution requires that you take a tampon and some unsweetened yogurt and spread the yogurt on one half of the tampon. Once the yogurt is smeared on half of the tampon you must then insert the yogurt end into the vagina and leave it in for at least 1 hour. The beneficial bacteria in the yogurt will directly destroy the yeast infection. The yogurt popsicle aspect is created from taking the yogurt smeared tampon and freezing it in a freezer, then inserting it into the vagina.
Vagina Infection Cure #3 - Air it out!
What do I mean by air it out? Well oxygen will directly destroy yeast as yeast are anaerobic life forms that survive in environments devoid of oxygen. If you air out your vagina and expose it to oxygen you will find that the infection will die out much quicker. As well avoid underwear and tight fitting clothing for the duration of the yeast infection if possible. As oxygen will destroy yeast an environment with no oxygen will propel an infection into rapid development.

Home Remedy For Yeast Infection - Effective Ways to Treat a Yeast Infection

Yeast infections come in various forms, but there is one fact that remains constant throughout - they usually affect women who are of child bearing age. The cause of this infection, according to medical sources, is the Candida albicans; which is a specific type of yeast. When this yeast naturally builds up in the vagina, imbalances are caused; and a yeast infection results.
It should be noted that steroids, antibiotics, and some birth control pills can cause an unbalance of bacteria, and thus lead to a yeast infection. Also, wearing tight jeans can also help cause the yeast infection, due to the jeans not giving the area room to breathe. While there are many drugs on the market for curing and/or preventing yeast infections, natural remedies can be even more effective in treating yeast infections.
There are many home remedies that have cropped up over the years, and it should be noted that not all of them are real. As such, women should take caution in applying remedies found on the internet, and should consult a doctor before taking action.
The first home remedy that is one of the most effective is consistently putting apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball or cloth, and applying to areas affected by the yeast infection. A downside to this method is that it can often produce an itchy feeling - this can be combated by adding garlic to the area, which naturally reacts with the vinegar to reduce or even remove itchiness. In addition, you might want to consider adding water to the vinegar to dilute it to a more tolerable concentration.
The next home remedy is another one that has reportedly worked wonders. Yogurts or curds are very effective, and it is advised by many to soak a tampon in yogurt or curds and insert it into the infected area for around an hour. The bacteria found in the yogurt will naturally replace the infected yeast bacteria, thus aiding in the healing of a yeast infection. Repeat this process 2-3 times per day until the infection heals itself.
While home remedies for yeast infections are effective, there is nothing more effective than preventing the infection in the first place. One great way to prevent a yeast infection is to drink 1-2 glasses of buttermilk every day, whether you are infected or not. This will keep your bacteria healthy and in good supply, making it much harder to receive a yeast infection.
